Hornsey Town Hall, a historically significant Grade II Listed building, is currently undergoing a meticulous and sensitive restoration and transformation. The goal is to repurpose it into a community arts space and hotel, breathing new life into this architectural treasure. To complement this endeavor, three new residential blocks have been thoughtfully integrated around the site, introducing a total of 120 new homes to the area.
The design of this project was masterminded by MAKE, and it demanded an extraordinary level of attention to detail and technical expertise, given the unique challenges associated with restoring and reimagining such a historically important building. Executing a project of this nature carries significant responsibility and requires a specific skill set that caters to the complexities of heritage preservation.
It is noteworthy that the construction of the three new residential blocks has been successfully completed, and they have been handed over to their intended residents. The refurbishment of the Town Hall itself is currently in progress and is slated for completion in November 2023. This project stands as a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship required to breathe new life into a cherished historical landmark while meeting the demands of modern functionality and aesthetics.
